Inclusive partnership blossoms at Cleveland Aquatic Centre
If you’ve ever wondered who maintains Cleveland Aquatic Centre’s (CAC) pristine gardens and grounds, the answer lies in an inspiring partnership between the venue, Redland City Council and Myhorizon Horticulture.
The partnership not only ensures the venue’s grounds are impeccably cared for, but also supports the broader community through a commitment to diversity, inclusion and creating sustainable employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Founded in 1981 by local families, Myhorizon is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing meaningful employment for people with disabilities. Since 2009, Myhorizon Horticulture has been training participants to earn a Certificate II in Horticulture, equipping them with practical, industry-recognised skills that empower them to thrive both professionally and personally.
The results of this partnership are in the exceptional work delivered by Myhorizon’s maintenance crew, who consistently keep the venue looking clean, welcoming and well-presented.
Venue Manager Gary Baldwin notes, “The quality of their work is always to the highest standard, making our venue look clean and well-maintained. The team always arrives on time and delivers great value for money”.
By choosing Myhorizon Horticulture, the Cleveland Aquatic Centre not only has beautiful garden care but is also playing a key role in creating sustainable employment for individuals with disabilities. This partnership is a prime example of how businesses can support inclusion, diversity and high-quality services.
